[:es]MUSEO THE BROAD[:en]THE BROAD MUSEUM[:]

The newly opened Museum The Broad of modern and contemporary art, is undoubtedly one of the new hotspots both cultural and tourist of Los Angeles. Founded by Eli and Edythe Broad in the downtown of the city, it was designed by architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler creating a striking building from its architecture, facade, distribution of spaces and fiberglass gaps that allow daylight to illuminate its impressive collection. It is neighbor of the also imposing Disney Concert Hall of Frank Gehry, the home of Los Angeles Philharmonic.

With 120,000 ft2 houses 2,000 works of great artists such as Jeff Koons, Jean – Michel Basquiat, Cindy Sherman, Robert Rauschenberg, Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, among many others besides emerging young artists. It also has some temporary exhibitions such as the Infinity Room by Yayoi Kusama which was from my favorites but you should know that you will have little time in it and go through a really long line to get in, but I assure you it is worth, you will be able to see it until this fall. In June there will be another special exhibition by Cindy Sherman called Imitation of Life for which you can make reservation before.

If you want to visit the general admission is free but you must take into consideration that has been under so much demand that you need to set aside your tickets in advance and that until May it is fully booked so if you plan to go soon you can enter to the museum page to know the following open dates or subscribe to the mailing list to receive notifications when you can book. Definitely one of the museums I had liked the most so if you have the opportunity do not hesitate in going and meeting it.
